Invite 2

The Watertown Unified School District is embarking on a strategic planning process to outline a path to sustainability and growth for the district in the years to come.

The process will be driven by the Strategic Planning Workgroup, which will meet several times over the next few months. Members will focus on student performance and growth, educator quality, community engagement, and facilities and operations as they conduct their work.

“Our community deeply values our schools and the students we serve. In our strategic planning efforts, we are uniting our community—including teachers, staff, families, administrators, board members, and community members—around how we can best move forward as a school district,” said Dr. Jarred Burke, WUSD Superintendent. “This effort aims to best address our students’ needs and ensure the long-term success of our schools. We look forward to engaging a diverse group of community members as we embark on this process.”

The strategic planning process will provide an opportunity for collective engagement around the district’s “why,” while providing intention and focus for continuous improvement. The plan will guide decision making, set specific actions for progress, and enable the district to monitor, evaluate, and adjust to reach its goals.

The public is invited to become involved in this process by attending a Strategic Planning Community Collaboration event on Thursday, May 16, 2024, from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Commons at Watertown High School. Attendees will be asked to provide ideas and feedback at this event. Refreshments will be available while quantities last. No registration is necessary.

Community members interested in participating in the more in-depth Strategic Planning Workgroup are asked to sign up at https://bit.ly/wusdspsignup. The first meeting will take place on Wednesday, June 5th, 6-8pm.
