What is Discovery Academy?

Discovery Academy offers students in the Watertown Unified School District alternative pathways to a high school diploma, including GED Option 2 (GEDO2) and Competency Based programs. Started in 2003, more than 30 students graduate from the programs each year. Many of the students go on to join 2-year post-secondary educational programs while the remaining students are connected to jobs in the community.

The goal of Discovery Academy is to provide academic and career readiness skills while encouraging personal growth within each student. Discovery Academy seeks to provide unique learning opportunities for students. In past years, students have visited The Milwaukee Public Museum, Discovery World, The Milwaukee County Zoo and even canoed the Bark and Rock Rivers.

Discovery Academy is located within the Madison College Watertown campus.
